The Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation

Community Service 2008

The Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation donated money to fix the clock on Silver Spring (2008) and the Fountain at School House Park (2007).

Available Community Grants

The Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation was established to promote the betterment of the Village of Whitefish Bay and its residents.  In doing so, the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation is active in the community by supporting and sponsoring community events, projects, and funding organizations that share the same objectives.  Our vision is to undertake projects that lessen the burden to Village government and that follow the mission of the organization.

An amount of grant money has been established that may be awarded to individuals, groups or organizations to help fund projects, events or causes that fit the mission of the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation.  In order to qualify for a grant, the applicant will be required to submit an application and demonstrate how the request fits within the mission of the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation.   Grants will be awarded once per quarter and the specific steps for applying are outlined below.  Grant requests will be reviewed by the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation, and in their sole discretion, a decision to approve or deny the request will be made and communicated to the applicant.  There is no guarantee that the grant will be fulfilled and the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation may request additional information regarding any request for grant dollars.   Click Here to Download the Grant application.  Grant application in PDF form or Grant application in Word

One such grant was award to Mark Kelley and his Eagle Scout Project.  The Civic Foundation was happy to fund and support his efforts to replace all the stone work around the flag pole in Buckley Park.

Community Service Scholarship

The Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation Scholarship was established in the spring of 2004.  The goal of the Scholarship is to reward a high school student or students who have exhibited exemplary service to their community in the form of volunteer activities and commitments.  Candidates for the $500 scholarship must demonstrate substantial service or volunteer activities benefiting local communities.

To be eligible, the student must be a Whitefish Bay resident, a graduating senior from a high school located in the metropolitan Milwaukee area, and meet the other criteria set forth in the application form.  Application forms are generally available from the guidance offices of local high schools or by clicking on the following link;  Community Service Application in PDF form, and are due in early April of each year.

Other Programs

In addition to the programs and events listed above, the Civic Foundation has supported safe prom and graduation night activities, the Community Band, the High School Art Festival, and the ice rink at Klode Park.  If you have a program or idea that you would like The Civic Foundation to support, please feel free to contact Jamie Downing at any time or submit the above Community Grant application.
