Sounds of Summer August 16th 2008 5pm on Silver Spring Dr.
|
SOS 2008 on Saturday, August 16th promises to keep the groove going as pop contemporary songsters and 2007 WAMI award nominee House Blend opens the show with smooth harmonies and melody lines that reflect the influences of artists like John Mayer and Hootie and the Blowfish. They just won the WAMI for best new band of '07! House Blend will be followed by Those X-Cleavers, the late-70’s East-side favorite on a reunion tour that will get you up and moving to honest melodies reminiscent of The Bodeans, The Ramones, and Color Radio. Headlining this year’s show is widely-acclaimed WAMI award winner The Mr. Lucky Syndicate - 8 accomplished musicians and vocalists who will lead concert-goers on a fast-moving journey thru the R&B and contemporary swing music world, Brian Setzer style. Don’t miss this extra special 6th Anniversary Sounds of Summer show from 5 - 10p.m.!
Sounds of Summer is produced by the Civic Foundation in consort with John Ertl of SWIMTeam Management whose production credits include the Ziegler Kettle Moraine Jazz Festival, Jazz on the Vine, Jazz in the Park, Bastille Days, Bayshore Town Square’s Square Tunes Series, and the former Heartland Stage at Summer Fest.
