6:45PM - BRANDON JAMES was born in Southeastern Wisconsin in 1983 and began playing guitar at the age of 8. Listening to artists like the Beatles, Eagles, Byrds, the Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Creedance Clearwater Revival, he was soon on stage with his first band, “Crossfire” at the age of 14. HEADLINER: 8:30pm PAUL CEBAR has steadfastly pursued a musical concatenation that is one part early R&B, another Pan-African Lilt, Afro-Cuban by way of New Orleans Slither, qualified by Mid-Western Soul and further distinguished by a gargantuan regard for spoken English.
After a short time and a few personnel changes, it became “Brandon James and Crossfire”. Their self-titled CD began generating much interest in Nashville, with Brandon and his father soon meeting with Joe Gallante and Renee Bell of RCA Records Nashville in 2000. One short year after “Brandon James and Crossfire” disbanded he took the stage with his best band to date, “Brandon James and the Bandits”, now known as “Brandon James Band”.
As for classifying his music, James is hesitant. "I'm not sure what genre to classify it in. Some people say country, kind of pop, kind of country, urban country; it's a little different." He'll also tell you that rock music has been a major influence on his full-length CD, "Labor of Love".
